2007年3月,應俄羅斯著名指揮E. Serov之邀請於Volgograd與當地交響樂團合作演出莫劄特第25號鋼琴協奏曲。 2007年5月,於莫斯科舉行的第三屆國際斯拉夫音樂節(這屆的主題是波蘭音樂)中獲得鋼琴比賽公開組的第二名。 2008 年5月,於第二屆國際鋼琴比賽Russian Season in Yekaterinburg(俄羅斯)獲得第五名,和Arensky特別獎。 2008 年8月,應香港鋼琴音樂學會邀請於香港大會堂高座舉辦講座『俄羅斯音樂,莫斯科留學分享』。 2009 年10月完成在莫斯科音樂學院的研究院課程(鋼琴和室樂雙主修)。 2010年1月於波蘭華沙舉行音樂會。 2010年9月,應香港演藝學院邀請舉辦講座『俄羅斯鋼琴音樂傳統』。 2010年9月,應邀於在香港舉辦的『東亞新聲音樂節』中演出。 2011年3月,應香港教育學院邀請舉辦鋼琴大師班。 2011年7月,於香港大會堂劇院舉行鋼琴獨奏會『李斯特與浪漫主義傳統』(全李斯特節目),以紀念李斯特誕辰二百週年。此為康樂及文化事務署『音樂顯才華』系列和李斯特馬勒年中之一個節目。 2011年10月,在香港大學陸佑堂舉行獨奏會『浪漫主義與革命』,以紀念辛亥革命一百週年。 2012年9月,應著名指揮家麥家樂之邀請在香港大會堂音樂廳合作演出柴可夫斯基的第一鋼琴協奏曲。 2012 年10月赴韓國演出:應邀於第三十二屆統營藝術節中舉行獨奏會,同月,應釜山東義大學校之邀請,舉行獨奏會和大師班。 2013年4月應廣州暨南大學之邀請,舉行獨奏會和大師班。 2013年11月應山西晉中師範高等專科學校和山西忻州師範學院之邀請,舉行獨奏會,大師班和講座『俄羅斯鋼琴學派介紹–歷史、傳統與精神』。 2015年6月,應惠州市文化藝術中心之邀情,舉行公益活動:如講座『俄羅斯鋼琴學派的演奏美學與基本原理』,公益大師課,皆為2015「惠民文化大講堂」系列活動之一。 從2006年起,伍盛中經常於各類型音樂公開比賽中擔任評委,包括:香港—亞洲鋼琴公開比賽、澳門—亞洲鋼琴公開比賽、全港青少年鋼琴大賽,香港國際鋼琴公開賽(蕭邦紀念獎及李斯特紀念獎),並在蕭邦、李斯特紀念獎於北京、粵西、惠州等賽區擔任評委團團長。 Sheng-chung

Chinese Pianist Sheng-chung Wu was born in Hong Kong in a
family of music lovers.After finishing his secondary education, Wu entered the
Chinese University of Hong Kong to study Mathematics and Music, where he
received training from the eminent Hong Kong pianist Raymond Young. After
graduating from the Mathematics Department with Honours, Wu decided to dedicate
himself wholly to Music, and to travel to Moscow to pursue perfection. Wu
entered the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire and specialized in piano
performance. His teachers included world class professors such as N.
Starkmann, L. Fichtenholz, M. Lidsky, A. Nasedkin, D. Galynin, and V. Chachava.
Upon
finishing the 5-year Basic Course, he furthered his studies in the
post-graduate school and obtained a double doctorate degree in piano
performance and chamber ensemble. Wu is the first musician from Hong Kong
and Macao who graduated from the institution. Besides, Wu also studied conducting
under the former rector of the conservatoire, B. Koulikov.
In
his student years Wu got numerous prizes in international piano competitions in
Russia and Europe, and began his concert activities. Wu is an active
participant in music festivals and concerts in various concert halls, museums,
churches in Russia, Europe, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Macau. His repertoire
includes works of Western European and Russian composers of various epochs and
styles. Wu is especially devoted to the interpretation of music by A. Scriabin
and K. Szymanowski.
Upon
returning his home country, Wu has been active in concertizing, pedagogical and
charity activities, promoting music, arts and culture. Wu
currently teaches at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong
Institute of Education, he is also a visiting professor in various universities
in China, such as Huizhou University, Jinzhong Teachers College and Xinzhou
Teachers University.
In
March 2007, being invited by the famous Russian conductor E. Serov, Wu gave a
performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto Nr. 25 in Volgograd with the Volgograd
Academic Symphonic Orchestra. In
May 2007, Wu won the 2nd prize in the 3rd International Festival of Slavic
Music in Moscow (the theme that year was Polish Music). In
May 2008, Wu won the 5th prize in the 2nd Russian Season in Yekaterinburg
(Russia), and also the Special Prize for the best performance of A. Arensky’s
works. In
August 2008, Wu was invited by the Hong Kong Piano Music Association to give a
lecture on Russian Music in City Hall (High Block). In
October 2009, Wu finished his postgraduate studies in the Moscow Conservatoire
with two specializations: piano performance and chamber ensemble. In
January 2010, Wu gave concerts in Warszawa, Poland. In
September 2010, Wu was invited by the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts to
give a lecture on the Russian piano tradition. In
November 2010, Wu was invited to perform in the East Asia New Music Festival in
Hong Kong. In
March 2011, Wu was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Education to give a
piano masterclass. In
July 2011, Wu was presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in
"Our Music Talents" Series with an all-Liszt recital “Franz Liszt and
the Age of Romanticism” in the Theatre, Hong Kong City Hall, as an event in the
Liszt & Mahler Year to commemorate the bi-centenary of the birth of Franz
Liszt. In
October 2011, Wu gave a recital "Revolution and Romanticism" in the
Loke Yew Hall of the Hong Kong University to commemorate the centenary of the
Hsinhai Revolution of 1911. In
September 2012, Wu was invited by the eminent Chinese conductor Mak Ka Lok to
perform Tchaikovsky’s First Piano concerto. In
October 2012 - tour to Korea, Wu was invited to give a recital in the 32nd
Tongyeong Art Festival, and then to give recital and masterclass at the
Dong-eui University in Busan. In
April 2013, Wu was invited by the Jinan University in Guangzhou to give a
recital and masterclass. In
November 2013, Wu was invited by the Jinzhong Teachers University and the
Xinzhou Teachers University to give recitals, masterclasses and a lecture “An
Introduction to the Russian Piano School – History, Tradition and Spirit”. In
June 2015, Wu was invited by the Huizhou Culture and Arts Centre to hold
charity activities such as lecture “Aesthetics and Basic Principles of the
Russian Piano School” and masterclasses, as part of the series “Huizhou Grand
Culture Lectures 2015”.
Since
2006, Wu is a jury member in several music competitions, including the Hong
Kong – Asia Piano Open Competition, Macau – Asia Piano Open Competition, Hong
Kong Children and Youth Piano Competition, Hong Kong International Piano Open
Competition (Chopin and Liszt Memorial Prizes), he was invited to be the
Chairmen of the Jury panel in the Preliminary Competitions of Chopin and Liszt
Memorial Prizes in Beijing, West Guangdong and Huizhou regions.
